Yasawa Islands | Fiji Dreams

The group of Islands refers to the Yasawa Group, consisting of approximately 20 volcanic islands found in the Western Division of Fiji, spanning a total area of 135 kilometres square or 52 square miles. The Yasawa Islands are considered one of the most beautiful locations as they are endowed with beautiful sandy beaches, clear blue waters and wildlife greenery.

All the Yasawa Islands are special in a way and contain various attractions for tourists. The visibility of the waters of the islands offers some of the best sandy beaches in the world perfect for swimming, snorkelling and diving that cover coral reefs with diversified fishes, turtles and sharks.

Moving away from scenic beauty, the Yasawa Islands’ history is highly cultural and deeply rooted. Historically, the people have lived on these islands and tourists are welcome to explore the general Fijian culture and local villages to familiarize themselves with the native Fijian culture and engage in basic cultural experiences such as dancing and sometimes even spending a day with the actual Fijian families.

High-altitude trekkers can trek past the central portion of the islands where there is dense forest that has waterfalls and exhilarating views of the seascape. Accommodation in these Islands ranges from inexpensive safe, clean and low-budget backpackers to high-end beachfront villas and new-generation environmentally responsible island resorts. Yasawa Islands also has diverse food options; including Fijian, Indian, and Chinese foods.

Everybody who wants to enjoy idyllic sandy beaches, get active in untouched nature or interact with native people will be fascinated by Yasawa Islands.
